About chateau de montmagner
Chateau De Montmagner is a historical monument nestled in Haute-vienne, France. Our ancient building boasts original 14th-century features and has been featured on British TV. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience, blending historical charm with modern luxury. Montmagner is mentioned in the archives as far back as the 12th century when it was a village consisting of 250 acres and many dwellings, one of those dwellings was the coaching house which is still in existence flanked by stables, piggeries and other vast outbuildings.
This cluster of buildings belonged to the community of priests of Saint-Maximin de Magnac-Laval and was of great importance to the church being located at the cross roads and the central pilgrimage stop over between two abbeys.
In the 14th century Montmagner in its entirety was sold for 12 bushels of rye to the Marcoul Family, it was in 1360 that the Chateau was built by Jean Marcoul. Lord of Montmagner.
